Writing Project Artifacts Brainstorm

Writing Project Artifacts Brainstorm

Q Background Information Our Writing Project is due soon, and I'd like to hear from you about some of the artifacts / evidence that you're going to be submitting for the writing process piece of the project. Here are the requirements for the writing process part of the project: • Documentation of engagement with the invention stage; freewrites, brainstorming, etc. • Documentation of engagement with the research stage: a list of terms and phrases used in researching, a longer works cited page with several sources that were considered, PDFs of articles with annotations, etc. • Documentation of engagement with the planning phase: concept-mapping, an essay outline, a rough timeline for completion, explanation of organization of notes and articles, etc. I want to see evidence that you engaged with each of these parts of the process: invention, research, and planning. To show me that you have gone through the writing process, you will submit evidence or "artifacts" that show you going through the process. The good news is that the assignments that we've been working on are all great examples of each of these parts of the writing process. So, if you've been keeping up with assignments, this part of the project should be close to done! Freewrite Questions With all that in mind, I'd like you to answer the following questions in 50-100 words each: • Describe at least 2 artifacts that you have and could use for each of the stages of the writing process (invention, research, and planning). What are they and how do they help show that you've gone through the writing process? • Some of these things might be handwritten on paper, odd pages of notes in google docs, or any other variety of formats. For the writing project, you will need to get digital copies to me, but I'm open to ideas about how those are shared as long as they're able to be shared through Canvas. Take stock of the items you have, and what types of files or forms they're in (pictures, google docs, etc). Would any of the following options work for sharing them with me? Choose any that would work and tell me how/why. o Place all items in Google Drive Folder and send me the link (retyping/taking pictures of handwritten notes) o Create a PDF with all items included o Create a MS Office OneDrive Folder through your COS Account (COS > My Giant > Office 365 > OneDrive) o Create a Google Slides / PowerPoint with items on slides (maybe 5-10 slides max) o Create a Google Sites Page (email me if interested in this option) o Other ideas? (remember, it needs to be submitted to Canvas) Rubric Assignment Rubric Assignment Rubric Criteria Ratings Pts This criterion is linked to a Learning OutcomeComplete The student meets all of the guidelines for the assignment as outlined on the assignment. 2 pts Complete The student meets all of the guidelines for the assignment as outlined on the assignment directions. 1 pts Incomplete The student missed at least some of the criteria or guidelines for the assignment. 0 pts Missing The student did not turn the assignment in before the deadline. 2 pts Total Points: 2 PreviousNext

Selecting your research topic is usually the most challenging part of writing a research paper. The topic reflects the general idea that is focused on in the paper. Research inventions strategies are different are from general writing. A writer should use ideas that are not previously there. There can be a correlation between already existing ideas and can be changed and improved in terms of quantity and quality. Inventions are creative achievements that allow us to fill the previous gaps and unknown solutions and research applications. Look at the other scholar's work at least to some extent. Use their ideas as it will help you to identify your topic with evidence.
